A smarter, safer gate for a university

State universityTurnstiles, face recognition and intercom

Negros Occidental, Philippines

Overview

A state university in Negros Occidental engaged LMI to secure the main gate of one of its campuses with turnstiles that read faces and ID cards, plus an intercom to the admin office.

LMI built it on the campus's existing network, trained the university's IT team and handed over in October 2025.

The approach

How LMI solved it

  1. Plan

Designed the gate layout, the network links and the enrollment process.

  2. Build

Chipped the floor, laid conduit, installed and wired the turnstiles, then restored the tiles.

  3. Configure

Set up face and card access, anti-passback, anti-tailgating, the intercom and the ID printer.

  4. Train and hand over

Tested every function, trained the IT team, closed the open items and handed over.

  1. Site challengeEverything had to run on the existing network.
  2. Site challengeCivil works at a busy campus gate.
  3. Site challengeSeveral systems had to work as one.
  4. Site challengeOpen items from the first test were closed before handover.

What you get with LMI

Digital transformation requires solid infrastructure.

Every new system depends on the infrastructure beneath it. LMI builds that foundation so your team can find it, maintain it and trust it.

01

Know who comes in

Faces and ID cards are checked at the gate, on the way in and out.

ProofFace and card access tested in both directions.

02

No more tailgating

Anti-passback and anti-tailgating rules block shared or doubled entries.

ProofBoth rules tested and working.

03

Your team runs it

Your IT staff can enroll users, read logs and override in an emergency.

Proof4 university IT staff trained.

04

Confidence at handover

Your team signs off on every function before you depend on it.

ProofCertificate of completion, October 2025.
