Case study · CCTV and Fiber Backbone

Every corner of a distillery, on camera

Distillery
Fiber backbone and 82-camera CCTV

Negros Occidental, Philippines

Overview

A distillery in Negros Occidental engaged LMI to build a plant-wide fiber backbone and an 82-camera CCTV system, including cameras rated for corrosive and explosive areas.

LMI laid about 4 km of fiber, installed and configured every camera on one central recorder, and handed over in February 2026.

4 kmof fiber backbone across the plant
3explosion-proof cameras for hazardous areas

The challenge

  • A large operating plant to cover, from the gates to the production areas
  • Corrosive and hazardous areas that need specially rated cameras
  • Fiber to run across the plant, buried and overhead
  • Cameras to mount on roofs and poles, at height

The result

  • 82 cameras installed and named by location
  • All channels configured on one central recorder
  • Fiber backbone installed; cable testing complete
  • Acceptance test marked Passed

On recordSigned acceptance test and certificate, February 2026.

How LMI solved it

  1. 1Survey

Mapped the fiber route and the camera points across the plant.

  2. 2Backbone

Laid and spliced about 4 km of fiber, in trenches and overhead, to network points across the plant.

  3. 3Install

Mounted 82 cameras, including corrosion-resistant and explosion-proof units, and the switches.

  4. 4Test and hand over

Configured recording, time sync, user rights and naming, then a signed acceptance test.

Site challenge

  1. 1A large site with many separate buildings.
  2. 2Trenching and overhead runs across an operating plant.
  3. 3Work at height on roofs and poles, in harness.
  4. 4Every camera named by location, not by number.

Verified at handover

  • All active devices installed
  • All recorder channels configured
  • Time sync set across cameras
  • User permissions set
  • Camera names match their locations
  • Power over Ethernet verified
  • Core switch addressing and trunks configured

On recordSigned by the client's representative, February 2026. Overall result: Passed.

What you get with LMI

Digital transformation requires solid infrastructure.

Every new system depends on the infrastructure beneath it. LMI builds that foundation so your team can find it, maintain it and trust it.

See the whole plant

Cameras cover the site from the gates to production, on one recorder.

Proof82 cameras on one central recorder.

Built for harsh areas

Corrosion-resistant and explosion-proof cameras where the plant needs them.

Proof3 explosion-proof cameras installed.

A backbone for what’s next

The plant-wide fiber backbone can carry more than cameras as the plant digitalizes.

ProofAbout 4 km of fiber across the plant.

Confidence at handover

Your team signs the acceptance test before you depend on it.

ProofSigned acceptance, February 2026.
