Power lines made safe at a sugar plant

Sugar and renewable-energy plant
Three electrical jobs, 2024 to 2026

Negros Occidental, Philippines

Overview

A sugar and renewable-energy plant in Negros Occidental engaged LMI for three electrical jobs: a 460-volt power system revision, the replacement of an old distribution line, and a 69 kV line repair after a pole fell.

Each job closed with a signed acceptance test marked Passed and a signed certificate of completion.

3electrical jobs at one plant, each signed off

The challenge

  • A fallen pole left the next pole carrying load it was not built for
  • Damaged insulators left hanging on the line, removed from mid-span
  • An old line feeding the admin building and staff houses, due for replacement
  • Work at height, in cane fields and beside the mill buildings

The result

  • 69 kV line reinforced, re-tensioned and re-energized
  • Old line replaced and the system energized safely
  • 460 V system tested, including insulation resistance
  • Every acceptance test marked Passed

On recordSigned acceptance test and certificate for all three jobs.

How LMI solved it

  1. 1Assess

Inspected the lines and coordinated work permits with the plant.

  2. 2Make safe

Disconnected power safely and removed old wires and damaged insulators.

  3. 3Rebuild

Reinforced the pole, added storm guys, fitted new insulators and re-sagged the conductors.

  4. 4Energize

Ran loop checks, energized the system and handed over with signed tests.

Site challenge

  1. 1A fallen pole changed how the line was carrying load.
  2. 2Damaged insulators had to be removed from mid-span.
  3. 3Anchors dug in cane fields; work at height.
  4. 4Re-energizing safely next to a working plant.

Verified at handover

  • Pole reinforced with extra strain and post insulators
  • Storm guys and anchors installed
  • Damaged insulators removed
  • Line re-tensioned and re-energized
  • Tapping and loop check performed successfully
  • System energized safely
  • Insulation resistance test passed on the 460 V system

On recordAcceptance tests signed by the plant's representative. Overall result: Passed.

What you get with LMI

Digital transformation requires solid infrastructure.

Every new system depends on the infrastructure beneath it. LMI builds that foundation so your team can find it, maintain it and trust it.

Power you can depend on

Lines and systems are rebuilt and tested before they carry load again.

ProofEvery acceptance test marked Passed.

Safety at every step

Power is disconnected safely, permits are coordinated, and energizing comes only after checks.

ProofSafe disconnection and energization recorded.

Built for the next storm

Storm guys and new insulators strengthen the line where it was weakest.

ProofStorm guys and anchors added at the reinforced pole.

Confidence at handover

Your team signs the test before you depend on it.

ProofSigned tests and certificates, 2024 to 2026.

Also from LMIThe rest of the infrastructure a digital operation runs on: Network refresh · Fiber optic cabling · Structured copper cabling · Core switching · Managed firewall and Wi-Fi · Managed CCTV · Access control and turnstiles · Lightning protection · Turnkey infrastructure projects
