Case study · Turnkey Infrastructure

One network for four campuses

State university
Turnkey: compute, security and switching

Negros Occidental, Philippines

Overview

A state university in Negros Occidental engaged LMI for a turnkey project: a hyperconverged server cluster, firewalls and switches to centralize the network of four campuses.

LMI delivered it from design to knowledge transfer. Every campus passed its acceptance test, and the university accepted the system in February 2026.

4campuses joined into one centralized, secured network
3hyperconverged server nodes in one cluster
72 hburn-in of the cluster with no critical failures

The challenge

  • Four campuses in different towns, each needing its own firewall, switches and rack
  • Existing firewall rules to carry over, and existing campus switches to work with
  • A central server cluster that keeps running if one part fails
  • Equipment lead times longer than the implementation window

The result

  • Campuses joined by site-to-site VPN and tested end to end
  • Legacy firewall rules migrated at all four campuses
  • Cluster failover, snapshots and backup and restore tested
  • Documentation and knowledge transfer at every campus

On recordFour signed acceptance tests, each Passed; system accepted February 2026.

How LMI solved it

  1. 1Design

Designed the central cluster, the campus firewalls and switching, and the links between campuses.

  2. 2Build

Installed racks, firewalls, stacked switches and the three-node cluster.

  3. 3Migrate and secure

Migrated legacy firewall rules, set up segments, VPN, load balancing and addressing.

  4. 4Test and hand over

Tested each campus, ran a 72-hour burn-in, then documentation and knowledge transfer.

Site challenge

  1. 1Four sites, one design.
  2. 2New equipment had to fit beside existing switches.
  3. 3Old rules had to carry over without gaps.
  4. 4Every campus was tested on its own.

Verified at handover

  • All cluster nodes online, no critical alerts
  • Automatic failover without service disruption
  • Snapshot create and restore; backup and restore
  • 72-hour burn-in with no critical failures
  • Site-to-site VPN and firewall rules at each campus
  • Unauthorized access blocked
  • Documentation and knowledge transfer at every campus

On recordAcceptance tests signed at all four campuses, February 2026. Overall result: Passed.

An SD-WAN rollout to 151 branch sites in all 17 regions, each with a new data cabinet, plus head-office and disaster-recovery hubs.

What you get with LMI

Digital transformation requires solid infrastructure.

Every new system depends on the infrastructure beneath it. LMI builds that foundation so your team can find it, maintain it and trust it.

One network, many sites

Every campus runs on one centralized, secured network.

ProofFour campuses joined and tested.

Keeps running through a fault

The central cluster fails over on its own when one part stops.

ProofFailover tested; 72-hour burn-in passed.

One team, end to end

Design, supply, installation, migration, testing and knowledge transfer in one project.

ProofTurnkey scope delivered and accepted.

Confidence at handover

Each campus signs its own acceptance test before you depend on it.

ProofFour acceptance tests, all Passed.
